Gigglin' but threatened.

On one hand, I am gigglin' my arse off. On the other hand, I am feeling terribly threatened. Let me explain.

Hey kids - Scrubbie here. Nice to see ya'll.

JR. Yep - this is a pic of the bro-in-law, JR. Good kid. Lov'em to death. Would do just 'bout anything for the guy.

So, JR and I go to the gym together. Ya know - little runnin' on the treadmill. Workout on the weights. That sorta stuff. We're both married. Both gotta stay buff. Whoop Whoop Whoop.

This week, JR and I ventured forth to the gym to do our thing. Got sweaty. Some chit chat. The usual. On the way out, stopped by the little cafe in the building to grab ourselves a deeelishush protein shake. (I know, I know... gym, protein shake... it's all so cliche.)

Anyway - protein shake. So - JR orders up his bevvy. I opt out. But, like a good bud - I hang out to continue to chat. Truth be told, JR was the transport for the day. Without him and his dog sled, Scrubbie wudda had to walk home. Blech.

So - we're there. Dude #1 is busily putting together 7 bucks wortha protein shake. Chocolate Banana. In case you were wondering. Dude #2 is behind the cash register.

It's Dude #2 that is one of the main characters in this tale. Arsty eyewear. Stripey fedora headwear. Well manicured fingers. Bit of a "swagger". And, a cadence and tone to his voice that is distinctly, ummmmm, feminine. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

A conversation begins.

Dude #2: "Did you guys just finish working out?"
JR: "yep"

Scrubbie, on the sidelines, smiles.

Scrubbie, seeing an opportunity, puts his two cents in.

Scrubbie: "Yep - and now have to protein up. Gotta look good." Scrubbie throws out his chest.
Dude #2 giggles

Awkward silence.

Dude #2 to JR: "That's a very nice ring you have on."
JR: "huh?
Dude #2: "That's a very nice ring you have on."
JR, looking down at his wedding ring: "Uh - oh - thanks."

Scrubbie, on the sidelines, smiles.

More awkward silence.

Dude #1 delivers 7 bucks worth of protein shake.

JR: "Thanks"
Dude #2: "Have a good day guys."

Scrubbie and JR make their way out of the building.

JR takes the lead. Scrubbie walks behind him, a few paces back. Smiling.

Nothing is spoken.

JR and Scrubbie are striding through the parking lot in silence.

The silence is broken by JR.

"SHUT-UP"

hehehehe

"SHUT-UP"

Scrubbie still hasn't spoken.

"SHUT-UP"

Ahhhh - I didn't even need to say anything. LOL.

Oh - don't be fooled. JR loves the attention. Let's face it, we boys ALL love the attention. LOLOL.

So - as you can see - Scrubbie is laughing his arse off.

But - I mentioned at the top of this posting that I was also feeling terribly threatened.

You see - How did Dude #2 know JR wasn't my HUSBAND????!!!!!!

HMPH. Scrub's gotta go give dude a beatin'.

Lookie Lookie

Hey gang - wanna see the kid in action today? The wee fart is off SnowBoardin' today.

If yer tryin to see him - he's the one in the grey coat and black toque. Can't miss him.

A personal invitation.

Inspiring, wasn't it?

Hey kids - Scrubbie here. Ya, I caught a few moments of the new President of the Red, White and Blue being sworn in and his first remarks as Commander In Chief.

Whoops - time for a Scrubbie Aside. Excuse me a moment.

"Mr. President. Scrubbie here. Hey - congrats! Congrats to you, the wife, the kids. New pad. New job. Yikes - busy days, eh? So - I understand your first family road trip will be to the Great White North. Well, I tell ya, we are just as pleased as punch. Seriously. I am sure there are gonna be oodles of Canucks sayin so, but let me throw in my touque and say WELCOME to Canada, eh. Grab a Timmies, meet up with our big dude, Steve Harper, have a chat and make yourself at home. Canada is glad to have you as a neighbour and pal. And, if you and the wife are lookin for somethin' a little more down to earth - drop me a note. The Scrubbie fam would be only too happy to have ya'll over for a cuppa tea and a light lunch. I promise - Hurricane Rona wont be anywhere to be found. Cheers."

Ok kids - I'm back. Thanks.

So - to all our US pals - way to go kids. Personally, Scrubbie thinks ya'll did great and givin' Obama a promotion. Good call.

Finally - and in true All-Canadian fashion - let me take a moment to comment on the weather. HOLY FRACK! IT'S FRACKIN' COLD OUTSIDE! Geez.

Where's the Loo?

It's Obama-mania! Even up here in the Great White - everything on the tube is all about Obama. Everything in the paper is about Obama. And, everything on the radio is about Obama. I tell ya kids - this is a big thing!

I really do want to congratulate our neighbours to the South because tomorrow is a big day. It is a day that is truely ushering in change for the good 'ol U S of A. And, cause Scrubbie's gots cuzins and family who sport the Red White and Blue (as well as bein a Canuck - neighbours and friends of the States)... I am quite interested in the comin's and goin's of those south of the border.

Sadly - Scrub's gotta work tomorrow through the whole thing. But, as we all know, CNN has it's graphics ready and I am very sure that for the next 48 hours - they will be replaying every livin' moment of the historic event at regular intervals and, of course, with their analysts - they'll be scrutinizin' every sentence, every word and every syllable that anyone who is anyone says. I'll catch it later.

Seriously though - from all of us in the land of the Maple Leaf and the Beaver, Back Bacon and beer that really does taste like beer - Scrub wishes all his Yankee friends the very best. Congrats kids.

Scrubbie would have been there up on the podium with the wife and the kid - sharin' good times with Barack and Michelle and all... right in the thick of it... but like I said... gotta work tomorrow. And, to be honest - I am kinda glad I ain't gonna be there. Bein' in the spotlight like that - on stage and all - TV camera's everywhere - Secret Service all over me... just makes me gotta go pee. Hate that.

So Say We All

It's Battlestar Galactica Day! Wooooo-Frackin'-Hooooooo!

Both the wife and I are titillated with the fact that tonight is the first new episode of the final espisodes of BSG. It's been a great great series. And, if that twer'nt enough - all day today, they are showing the final season leading up to the new episode tonight. Oh glory be.

So, the wife and I have collected our respective bits and pieces that we need in order to get some work done today and have set ourselves up in the living room of the igloo to enjoy hours and hours of Cylons and Humans and schtuff like that. hehehehehe

There ya go kids. Later!

Knob and The Environmentalists.

So - I know ya'll will relate to this.

Scrubbie's takin' this business course. Twice a week for a couple hours each session. It's pretty good. Lotsa info - most of it useful. Ya know how it is.

In the program though... there is the obligatory KNOB. Yes... this dude is the one who won't shut up. Has to find the flaw in everything. Argues every point. And, says the stoopidest stuff. Constantly says things like "I don't even know why I am here. This is useless stuff."

KNOB is a frackin' idiot. And, there's always one in every group, isn't there? I don't get it. It's not like we're in prison or anything. You signed up for it dude. Sheesh.

And, if that isn't enough - we also have the environmentalists. Two of 'em. These two gals (get this into ya) complained on the first day last week that we were using too much electricity becuase the instructor was using a projector for his computer with a PowerPoint presentation. TOO MUCH ELECTRICITY! Bwaaaa-haa-haa!

Geez.

The wife and I are huddled up, tryin to keep warm in the deep freeze right now. We have our woolies on and have stoked the electric fire up to max. But, I still have chills. No, no... not from the brisk temps breezin' through the igloo right now. The chills are from this creepy show we have on the tube right now. GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL. It's one of those shows you flip on while enjoyin a cuppa tea and nothin' else is really on to distract your attention.

Well - these wacked out dudes and dudettes are s'posedly doing investigations of paranormal activity in various places. They are in some church somewhere checkin' out reports of ghosts. And, they are all freakin' out cause apparently "there is definately something in here". Sheesh. Scrubbs gots goose-pimplies EVERYWHERE right now.

Wifes freakin' out a bit too.

Lunatic dog... doesn't give a damn. She's on the loveseat, curled up and doin that doggie dreamin' woof thing. Hysterical.

Sing.... Sing a song. Dear God. Back Door Photo. Geek. Cold. Read on kids...

Hey kids. Scrubbie here. Wednesday night. The wife has taken over the tube. Scoffed the clicker. Hoarding control. Scrubbie is sad. Very sad. Why? Cause it's Knight Rider night. Instead - American Idol on the box. Which reminds me... time for another Scrubbie Aside. Excuse me a moment.
"Dear God. Scrubbie again. Howz it goin? Lord - give me the strength, the courage and the wisdom to know and understand that I cannot sing and should never ever audition for a show like American Idol. Thanks God. You da man. Amen."

Ok - thanks. I am back.

So... ya know the Front Door Photos? Well, here's a Back Door Photo. Thought I'd switch it up a bit. I just love the view from the back of the igloo. Had to share it with ya. Purty ain't it?

Brought the wife's daddy home today. As you might recall... the old boy was in the hospital for a week. Much better now. Still some issues - but... don't we all have issues? So, ya, brought him home today - got him settled in - grabbed some road kill and whipped up a tasty dinner for him and MamaLou. Gave them a call this evenin - and they are just nestled in like a couple 'a bugs in a rug. Phew.

Hey - remember my friend, the Geek? (Dontcha just love the cast of characters 'round here.) Well - as you may recall.... Geek is a single fella with a couple 'a kids he shares with former wife the Dispatcher. Well.... perhaps I should say WAS a single fella. Geek has HOOKED IT UP! (Scrub says with arms crossed and fingers in that "whoa ya" pose the kid does all the darn time) YES - Geek has a Geekette. And, Geekette gots kids too. And pets. Geek had pets already.

Geek and Geekette have shacked up.

So... here's the overview. Geek went from bein Geek and a couple 'a dogs no bigger than large rats and two boys who are there part time to... Geek and Geekette, 6 kids, 5 cats, 4 dogs... and a partridge in a pear tree. hehehehe.

Seriously though - Scrub's pretty happy for them all. Way to go kids.

Deep freeze continues here in the Great White. -32 degrees tonight. Let me just say that again. MINUS THIRTY TWO DEGREES. Doesn't that just send a shiver up yer spine? The lunatic dog is NOT thrilled about piddlin' in the 'ol outdoors. Mind you... neither is the kid.
